A gift from the British Crown

After a very long break from this project, more updates from now on will be posted, as all the separate items arrive.

Pictured above is a WWI Male Tank, gifted to the newly created nation of Mongo, to form the core of Mongo Armored Forces [M.A.F.], by the Queen of England. M.A.F. "King" is just half of the gift. The other is M.A.F. "Queen", a WWI Female Tank. Granted, WWI tanks are not much use against modern vehicles, but might be able to hold their own against large disorganised mobs. Or maybe not... If they have Molotov coctails and Chinese RPG launchers ?

Those tanks will be supported by infantry in the form of Italeri British Infantry [6050]. Presidental Guard anyone ?

Welcome to Mongo!

After a discussion on TMP about gaming with 1:72 minis [http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=190545], I decided that 40 x 40 mm basing for 3 figures is a good idea and promptly ordered several packets of 2mm MDF 40mm squares via eBay.co.uk. They were really cheap too at 1 GBP per pack of 16 plus 40p shipping to Poland. Hopefully next week I will be able to create several infantry bases since I already own various 1:72 minis.

I was also thinking about the localization of the 'conflict'. Not being terribly original I decided on two neighboring countries, Mongo and Zuganda, as well as several force names that may change in the future...

Territorial Earth Alliance Militia = T.E.A.M.

Mongo Enlightened Animists Tribe = M.E.A.T.

Nationalist Alliance Succession Army = N.A.S.A.

Marxist Anarchist Restoration Squadron = M.A.R.S.

National Independence Congress Escorts = N.I.C.E.

Zuganda Intervention Patrol = Z.I.P.

Now the hard part on deciding what miniatures to assign to each force...

AK47 Republic is a set of wargaming rules by RFCM [Peter Pig], for gaming 15mm skirmishes in Third World countries using various political 'influences' before real combat commences.
The main problem in playing those rules in Poland is the almost complete lack of 15mm gamers... So in a stroke of genius [no doubt juju berry influenced], I decided to give them a try with popular 1:72 plastics. Now all those orphaned 1:72 miniatures obtained for peanuts via eBay will have a use !
